Möbius Kanon (Moebius Canon) is a piece written for Saxophone Quartet. It is a part of the Music Landscapes series, containing a new founded notation technique on a moebius strip
(a surface with only one side and only one boundary component - Wikipedia) that can be read from all sides - front, back, from the left and from the right. For this project, our big transparent moebius strip is held by a thorough construction of plexy glass about 2 meters tall, that gives the musicians the opportunity to walk around the object while playing at the same time.
Möbius Kanon is an art work, but also a very interesting approach to chaos and order in music. The transparent construction is very light and generates a feeling of seeing music being played in the air, and invites the audience to also read the score, enjoy the movements of the players and of course the music.
